INTRODUCING TABLE TENNIS BRADFORD ON AVON
FRIDAY SESSIONS ARE NOW SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
BECAUSE OF COVID19
UPDATE 15th July 2020
Following the Government's statement on 9th July regarding indoor sports activities being able to restart later in the month, we’d like to keep you up to date with where we are. We have decided to closely follow the guidance provided by Table Tennis England as we are a TTE affiliated club. We are going through their documentation at the moment.
Also, as we play in a Town Council owned building we will need to get their permission to restart and will almost certainly need to provide them with a risk assessment and method statement. What we do know is that the way we play will be quite different to usual, certainly in the early days of our return. We will need to observe strict physical distancing and rigorous hygiene.
So, we will only be playing singles to start with, using 3 tables; this means that over the course of an evening there will be less playing time and more hanging around. Hopefully, as time goes on this will ease and, eventually, we will return to operating as normal.
We’re not yet setting a date of return as we still have a lot of preparation to do. Rest assured, we will keep you informed of how things are going and a likely re-start date.
Please be kind enough to pass this on to any regulars you know as we don’t have everyone’s email addresses and not everyone looks at the website.

About Table Tennis Bradford on Avon
FRIDAY SESSIONS ARE NOW SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE BECAUSE OF COVID19
We meet every Friday evening, 6.00 - 8.00 p.m. 52 weeks a year, unless Christmas Day falls on a Friday.
Our venue is the Youth and Community Centre in Frome Road, next door to Fitzmaurice Primary School, BA15 1LE.
We need to make a small charge to cover our overheads; £3 adults, free for U18s
4 tables are available and bats and balls are provided or you can bring your own.
U18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
There are several table tennis clubs in the Bradford on Avon area but ours is different as we don't have teams or play in leagues. So, we're not competing with the other clubs, just complementing them. If you find you like playing and want to take your game to a higher level you might like to try them out; we can let you have contact details.
If you're interested in giving us a go just turn up on a Friday evening or get in touch:

HELPFUL TIPS ABOUT TABLE TENNIS BRADFORD on AVON
I'M A COMPLETE BEGINNER CAN I STILL COME?
Yes, even if you've never picked up a table tennis bat in your life that's no problem at all, we'll show you how to get started and teach you the rules.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
It's free for U18s and just £3 for adults. There is no joining fee or annual subscription.
I DON'T HAVE A BAT OR BALL, IS THAT OK?
Of course it is. We have a range of bats and plenty of balls, as well as 4 tables. So you just need to turn up in comfortable clothes and footwear.
DO I HAVE TO COME TO EVERY SESSION?
If you want to improve it's best to come as often as you can. Also, we need to keep up our numbers to create a healthy and thriving club. However, we realise that family commitments, illness and other things may occasionally prevent you from coming along and that's fine.
DO I HAVE TO STAY FOR THE WHOLE SESSION?
No, stay as long as you wish. You can come later or finish earlier, it's up to you. However, you will still have to pay for the whole session as we have our overheads to cover.
